About Forestry Division
The Forestry Division is responsible for implementing forestry law, managing forest resources, and supporting sustainable forestry practices in Tonga. Our mission is to ensure the conservation and sustainable use of Tonga’s forest resources for present and future generations.
Our Key Duties Include:
- Administering and enforcing forest laws and regulations.
- Nursery production for seedling to support food security, coastal protection and timber supply.
- Conducting forest inventory and planning for sustainable resource management.
- Establishing and managing forest reserves and protected areas.
- Supporting tree planting initiatives and community Reforestation programs.
- Providing extension and technicak services to the public.
- Promoting research and education in sustainable Forestry practices.
