MAFF ‘Eua Branch
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forests (MAFF) ‘Eua is committed to supporting the people of ‘Eua through safe food systems, sustainable farming, strong community engagement, and responsible management of natural resources. Our divisions work closely with farmers, families, and communities to strengthen livelihoods and protect public health.
Food Division
Protecting public health by ensuring all food sold or served on ‘Eua is safe.
- Inspection of restaurants, vendors, retailers, and wholesalers
- Monitoring food quality and safety, including imported foods
- Seizing and disposing of expired or unsafe food items
- Providing food safety guidance to business owners
Livestock Division
Supporting livestock farmers and promoting animal health across the island.
- Livestock clinics and treatment for sick animals
- Advice on livestock management and disease prevention
- Outreach to improve animal welfare and productivity
Extension Division
Working directly with farmers and communities to support agriculture development.
- Responding to plantation damage complaints
- Assessing crop damage and preparing compensation reports
- Monitoring crops and conducting agricultural surveys
- Market assessments for agricultural products
- Participation in village and district agricultural meetings
Women & Youth Development
Empowering women and youth through agriculture, nutrition, and livelihood skills.
- Raising vegetable seedlings for women’s farming groups
- Training in cooking, sewing, and livelihood development
- Teaching seed-saving using open-pollinated varieties
- Supporting home gardening and improved nutrition
Finance Division
Ensuring transparent and effective financial management for MAFF ‘Eua.
- Managing ministry budget and vote
- Overseeing revenue collection and reporting
- Ensuring procurement and expenditure compliance
Forestry Division
Promoting sustainable forest management and conservation.
- Raising and distributing timber and forestry seedlings
- Supporting community tree-planting programs
- Encouraging responsible land use and conservation
Office of the Officer-in-Charge (OIC)
The Officer-in-Charge oversees all MAFF ‘Eua operations, ensuring services are delivered efficiently and effectively. Responsibilities include staff management, handling public inquiries and complaints, providing leadership and approvals, and maintaining strong communication with MAFF Headquarters.
